Manchester Academy Dates released!

The recent news that Manchester is to swear in its first openly gay Lord Mayor has got us thinking about what a privilege it is to live in such a diverse, accepting and open minded part of the UK. With every possible walk of life represented, unsurprisingly this variety is reflected in the area’s music scene- with our own listings a perfect example.

Everything from the darkest metal to the earthiest folk is present and correct, not to mention all that lies in between. We’re particularly excited to be welcoming acclaimed British indie anthem-makers The Hunna, though, especially as they arrive after a summer spent touring Stateside. The guys arrive on Saturday 22nd October, so be sure to be there.

Similarly unmissable are Parquet Courts, New York’s rockers who are currently riding high off the back of their fifth studio album, Human Performance. Always vital in a live setting, we’re expecting a huge crowd to greet them for this leg of their time in Blighty, and for them to greet that crowd with the usual peerless showmanship on Monday 10th October.

Sunset Sons touch down for what promises to be a very special date indeed. The outfit, who hail from Australia but spend most of their time in Europe’s surfing capital of Landes, France, unveiled their debut LP, Very Rarely Say Die, earlier this year to widespread critical acclaim, and will be bringing their guitar-wielding prowess in all its glory.

Not a bad range of offerings by half.
