The finishing touches are being put in place at Cherry Hinton Hall as the Cambridge Folk Festival gets ready to celebrate its golden anniversary.
The 50th Cambridge Folk Festival has been sold out for several months, highlighting its rip-roaring success and popularity. No tickets will be available for purchase at the gate over the Festival weekend so the general public are advised not to travel to the Festival if they don’t have a sought-after ticket.
If the disappointment of not having a ticket is all too much, you needn’t fear – you will still be able to listen to a live BBC Radio 2 Festival broadcast with presenter Mark Radcliffe on Saturday 2nd August between 3pm and 6pm. Not only this, but a follow up show of highlights from the brilliant event will also be broadcast on the BBC Radio 2 Folk Show with Mark Radcliffe on Wednesday 6th August between 7pm and 8pm.
As well as these BBC Radio 2 broadcasts, folk fans will be able to catch up on all the activity at the Festival by following the event’s social media feeds and official website (www.cambridgefolkfestival.co.uk) which will be broadcasting exclusive backstage performances, gossip and interviews from all the artists at the Festival.

Held annually in Cherry Hinton Hall, the beautiful tree lined park in Cambridge, the four-day outdoor Festival has been hailed as one of the ‘most prestigious’ in the world.
